Brockport Fire Department: "Help Us, Help You"!
VILLAGE OF BROCKPORT, February 15, 2007
RECORD BREAKING SNOWFALL HAS HIDDEN MANY AREA FIRE HYDRANTS FROM VIEW!
“ADOPT A HYDRANT”
The Brockport Fire Department is asking all residents and homeowners to once again, “Help Us, Help You!” Consider through all the recent snow we have had adopting the hydrant nearest your home. In doing so, we ask that you maintain the hydrant clear of ice and snow completely surrounding the hydrant with a clear path to the road when possible. In the event of a fire emergency, this will save your firefighters valuable time in locating and hooking up to the hydrant if they don’t have to first dig it out. In most areas, the fire hydrants serve more than one home and if everyone near the hydrant gives a hand, a few extra minutes of shoveling may make a big difference in protecting your property. Chief Tim Rombaut thanks you in advance for your assistance in this vital service you can provide for us, to help you and your neighbors.
