Starting next week the Canal Corporation will be doing earth work including clearing and grubbing on the north end of the canal to prepare the site of the pedestrian bridge abutment. Residents in the area* may hear some noise but should not see anything from their homes. The trail in that area will remain open and signage will inform users of work in the area and steer them clear. This work is strictly related and essential to the pedestrian bridge project and is not part of the Earthen Embankment Integrity Program. This work will last approximately 2-3 weeks.
*Please note the pedestrian bridge area is located in the western section of the Village, between Holley St./and SUNY’s Commissary Park, across the Canal, to the west end of Evergreen Rd. and Willowbrooke Drive.
