The mayor recently spoke with Paul Attoma, Engineer in Charge to get an update on the Main Street bridge work. They have milled the approaches to the north and south sides of the bridge and will be paving them this week.  Steel plates will be put over the approaches once paved to protect the roadway from any heavy equipment. Curbing has been added to the bridge approaches, granite on the south side (as it was before) and concrete on the north side.

The canal gate arm foundations and traffic signal foundations have been put in place.  The counterweights, comprised of steel plates instead of a giant cement block, have been completed on the north side.  A few more plates need to be added to the south pit.  Interior work on the control tower is ongoing.  All control tower windows have been replaced. The completion date for the bridge is still projected to be February 26, 2025.
