News & Announcements
Canal closing update
The Governor's office has provided an update on the canal closing from Brockport to Middleport locks. The reopening of the canal will be expedited by employing a temporary fix that will only involve 5-7 days of closure, beginning on Monday, June 27th.
The area needing repair will then be revisited in September/October for a permanent fix, requiring another draining of that canal segement.
This strategy will have less impact on the many farms that draw water from the canal for the growing season and will have less impact on boat traffic.
