SUNY Brockport's Mornings With The Professors is BACK!

January 18, 2022

This popular community program has returned and features lectures from College faculty on Tuesday mornings during the semester.  Lectures are offered both virtually via Zoom and on-campus ($5 to attend virtually, $10 to attend on-campus). Refreshments are served, and each week a new topic is featured.

Winter Sidewalk Upkeep

January 6, 2022

Now that colder weather is upon us please consider the sidewalk conditions in front of your home or business.  The village plows sidewalks as a courtsey when there is significant snowfall and when we are able. 

Sidewalk upkeep is the responsibility of property owners.  Please keep walkways clear of snow and other debris.  If icy, please consider salting the sidewalk in front of your home or business to ensure the safety of all pedestrians.

Pedestrian Bridge Project Update

January 3, 2022

The design phase is nearing completion.  Construction will begin in 2023 and will conclude in 2025.

New Years Office Closures

December 28, 2021

Village offices at 127 Main Street will be closing at 12:30pm on Thursday, December 30 and will re-open at 8:30am on Monday, January 3.

DPW and Village Court will be closed Friday, December 31.

Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District Launches 2022 Conservation Tree & Shrub Program

The Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District has just released their Conservation Tree & Shrub Program!

This program allows landowners to purchase native or naturalized tree, shrub, and flowers species so they can plant them in their yards for streambank stabilization, windbreaks, climate resiliency, create wildlife and pollinator habitat, and more!

Zoning Board of Appeals Meeting - January 6, 2022

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Zoning Board of Appeals of the Village of Brockport will hold a PUBLIC HEARING on Thursday, January 6, 2022 beginning at 6:00pm via Zoom.

The topic of discussion will be an applicant who seeks an area variance to install 8 EV charging Units.

Holiday Village Office Closures

December 20, 2021

The Village Offices at 127 Main Street will be close at 12:30pm on Thursday, December 23.  The office will re-open on Monday, December 27, at 8:30am.

DPW and Village Court will be closed Friday, December 24.

Windstorm Cleanup and Stump Grinding

December 17, 2021

The Department of Public Works would like to thank the residents for getting their brush to the curb in a timely manner. We will continue into next week to pick up the cleanup from the windstorm. If you see flags by tree stumps, near or around your house, we are also out stump grinding. Final restoration work will be done in the spring.

Travel Ban / Power Lines & Trees Down

December 12, 2021

Many power lines, telephone poles and trees are down in the village.  Please stay indoors and do not travel unless absolutely necessary.  Many are completely closed to travel.  Parts of College, Utica, Fayette, Quary, and North Main Streets, and Park Ave have been affected.

We have extra DPW workers and police officers on duty working hard to assist our residents at this time.  In many cases, we are dependent on National Grid to clear lines from roads and properties.

Monroe County has issued a travel ban due to the power outages and downed lines and trees.  Traffic lights are out -- if you need to be out please treat these intersections as four way stops.

High Wind Warning 1pm-11pm Saturday, December 11

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for our area.

Included in this warning is the following statement:

People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around
trees and branches. If possible, remain in the lower levels of
your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if
you must drive.

New Statewide Mask Mandate In Effect Monday, December 13

December 10, 2021

Effective December 13, New York State mandates masks to be required to be worn in all indoor public places unless businesses or venues implement a vaccine requirement.

This measure is effective Dec. 13, 2021 until Jan. 15, 2022, after which the State will re-evaluate based on current conditions
