Beginning in the summer of 2022 the Main Street lift bridge in downtown Brockport will be closed for repairs for up to 18 months. The Village of Brockport is looking for people with creative ideas to serve on a planning committee tasked with drawing visitors downtown and promoting our business district on both sides of the canal during the bridge closure.

Appointments to the “Bridging the Closure Committee” will be made in May 2021, and we expect the committee to begin meeting in early summer, 2021. Prior to the formation of the committee the organizers will be meeting with Fairport and Spencerport individuals who have already been through the bridge closure experience. The pandemic situation permitting, we hope that by June committees can meet in person. Interested persons should fill out a position interest form available on the village website at http://www.brockportny.org/departments-services/forms-and-applications.
