You will be able to track the Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief live by following the CL Churchill, the tugboat that moves the Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief.
The Erie Canal Boat Seneca Chief, a full-sized replica of the original canal boat that made the inaugural journey on the Erie Canal in 1825. This historic vessel is embarking on its Bicentennial Voyage from Buffalo to New York Harbor, and Brockport is one of its official stops.
Join us in celebrating this significant milestone in New York State history! The event is open to the public and is a fantastic opportunity for all ages to experience a piece of the past and learn about the canal’s enduring legacy.
TODAY, Friday, September 26, 2025, Location: Brockport Welcome Center at 11 Water Street, Brockport, NY
Approximate Schedule:
- 3:00 PM: Arrival of the Seneca Chief
- 3:00 – 5:00 PM: Music by Patty Stirk
- 3:30 PM: Welcome Ceremony
- 4:00 – 7:00 PM: The boat will be open to the public for tours and on-shore activities.
Big Ditch Brewing Company will be traveling with the boat and selling “Long Haul,” the official beer of the Bicentennial Voyage. Stop by the beer tent for a sample and purchase of the “Long Hall” special brew!
